Challenge:
District Realty Corporation was in need
of an updated website with expert search
engine optimization. Their old site, which was constructed in
2004, no longer fairly presented the company and all of its assets
to its key target markets. In particular, the company's
fast-growing real estate brokerage division was neglected
completely on the original site, which focused mainly on apartment
rentals.
Although they had a website, for all intents and purposes,
District has not had a Internet marketing
strategy to truly market its brand on the web or to use its
website as a key advertising tool, especially for the purpose of
attracting prospective tenants to its fast-growing residential
property management portfolio. Marketing Breakthroughs was assigned
with the task of creating a new SEO website for District that would
bring in more web traffic and generate more leads for all divisions
of the company.
Solution:
Working closely with the Ottawa Internet marketing and web
development team selected for this project (Atomic Motion), we
created an all-new site architecture and web design for District
Realty. The entire site was rebuilt from the ground up based on our
own in-depth Ottawa SEO research conducted on the needs of
District's clients and tenants, a competitive review of other
leading apartment rental and real estate sites, and the use of the
latest SEO software to determine the best search engine
optimization keywords to use in the site copywriting.
To get the information needed to write captivating copy about each
of the properties to be listed on the site, in addition to meetings
and interviews with key District managers, our team visited most of
the listed properties. By looking at each building through the eyes
of a prospective tenant, we were able to get a true sense of the
neighbourhood, nearby amenities and the property that should be
highlighted in the web copy in order to better attract potential
tenants.
We also reviewed all of the pictures taken from each property (and
there were often dozens of pictures for each building), selecting
the best ones to use in our Internet marketing and then touching
them up to make them look as professional, eye-catching and
appealing as possible.
Results:
The new District Realty Corporation SEO website was launched in
December 2007 during a launch event attended by all staff members
of District's head office.
Supported by an easy to use Content Management System in addition
to its dynamic design and property presentation, intuitive
navigation and an industry-leading search engine optimization
process, the new website is truly a state-of-the-art piece of web
